Energy Matters
Energy Matters is a joint initiative delivered by Green Rose and Citizens Advice North Lancashire and Preston & District, funded through the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme. The project provides year-round, personalised support to households struggling with rising energy costs, combining Citizens Advice's expertise in debt with Green Rose's specialism in tariff switching and energy efficiency advice.
Energy Matters is delivered through home visits, phone consultations and community events, reaching residents across the Lancaster and Preston districts. The project's impact was recognised with the Small Scale Project of the Year award at the North West Energy Efficiency Awards, in acknowledgement of the difference the partnership has made to households facing some of the toughest financial pressures.
Energy Matters is a model of what's possible when specialist organisations combine strengths under a single, coordinated programme.
The project is now being extended into the Wyre area through funding from Wyre District Council.
