The Little Van of Warm service is managed by Green Rose as part of Cosy Homes in Lancashire (CHiL), the council-backed retrofit programme. 

While our Cosy Homes Advice Team (CHAT) provide advice around home energy over the phone, the two Little Vans of Warm are out and about in the community visiting people’s homes to provide advice in-person as well as supply and fit small measures to help people feel warm straight away. These measures include a variety of items depending on what is suitable for the household, such as electric blankets, low energy light bulbs, dehumidifiers and draft excluders.

In 2026 the service expanded with the addition of a second van to reach more households in need of support.

The management of this service alongside our phone advice demonstrates the strength of combing multi delivery methods to reach households in the best way for them.
